Central US: Area of light density remnant smoke likely mixed with pollution/haze was seen over portions of the southern Appalachians across much of the southeast US and extends westward over Texas. Smoke is believed to have originated mostly from the Rim wildfire in California along with additional smaller wildfires across Idaho. Western US: Light smoke extends from Central California northeastward across Nevada, eastern Oregon, Idaho, southwest Montana with embedded pockets of medium-dense smoke. Heavy dense smoke was seen primarily confined to areas near the Rim fire and over portions of western Nevada. Central Canada: Several wildfires burning across central Saskatchewan and central Manitoba provinces are producing light to moderately dense smoke plumes. Smoke from these fires is generally moving south and east.
