DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 0000Z October 29, 2013

SMOKE
No areas of significant detached or remnant smoke were observed in
satellite imagery this afternoon and evening. Mainly localized smoke
plumes from active fires were observed over the Florida Panhandle and
southern Alabama. Numerous fires were detected over Vancouver Island and
central and southern British Columbia through most of the day. Many smoke
plumes were seen with these fires and were mainly moving to the southwest
and remaining north of the US Canadian border or moving into the Pacific.

BLOWING DUST
Southern California:
A small area of blowing dust was observed moving to the east across far
southern California in the vicinity of the Salton Sea.
