DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

Northern Plains: An area of thin density remnant smoke plume is seen in early morning visible satellite imagery moving southeast across eastern Montana, North and South Dakotas. Smoke is believed to be from several agricultural fires that were burning and producing smoke yesterday across the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. Alaska: A remnant thin density smoke plume could be seen this morning tracking east across east-central Alaska, which is associated with a large fire burning in the central portion of the state. Warren THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE..TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
