THROUGH 0300Z June 23, 2014
BLOWING DUST: Gulf of Mexico/Gulf Coast: Large area of Saharan dust remains over much of the central/southern and western portion of the Gulf as well as bending around to extend back east across the northern Gulf and Gulf states and into the Atlantic off the coast of Florida and the Carolina's. The extend of the dust over land remains hard to tell due to cloud cover all afternoon/evening across the southern states SMOKE: The smoke over Northwest and Canada as well as the Great Lakes region and eastern Canada has moved very little the afternoon/evening. Liddick From earlier: SMOKE: Eastern Canada/Great Lakes Region US: Residual smoke extends and moves SSE across portions of S Hudson Bay, James Bay, C/W Ontario and W Quebec. The smoke is beginning to stretch in to northern portions of Lake Superior, Lake Huron, Michigan and across all of Georgian Bay. Most likely, the smoke is from wildfires burning across Northwest Territories/Northern Alberta this week. Northwest Territories: A narrow area of residual smoke can be seen across W Northwest Territories and stretching between western sections of Great Bear and Great Slave Lake. Additional smoke is most likely to the east, but cannot be seen as a boundary/cloud cover extends from Northwest Territories SSE through Alberta/Saskatchewan.
