DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

Canada/US: Wildfires across British Columbia, Northwest Territories and Saskatchewan continue to produce moderately dense to dense smoke across a large section of Canada and over the northern US. Heavy smoke can be seen moving east from the wildfires in British Columbia and moving into central Alberta, northern/central Saskatchewan and into northern Manitoba. Another area of moderately dense smoke stretches across parts of Ontario southward into the Upper Mississippi Valley, Great Lakes and Ohio Valley region. Lighter smoke stretches across most of Canadian and US Plains and as far east as the Northeast and Mid Atlantic and across all of the Ohio Valley sections. One last area of heavy smoke is seen moving southwestward across sections of southern British Columbia and over Vancouver Island. Labrador: Wildfires in central Labrador are producing light to moderately dense smoke moving north across the province and into the Labrador Sea. J Kibler THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE..TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
