Western US: Several large fires in northern California (mainly the Happy Camp and July complexes) and in western Oregon were producing a broad area of smoke that covered far northwest California, much of western Oregon and curling to the east along the Oregon/Washington border. Much of this was moderate to dense smoke. The smoke also was being carried off the coast into the Pacific and down the California coast to near Point Conception. Several fires in northern Idaho and northwest Montana were producing mostly light smoke plumes that were confined to the local areas around the fires. British Columbia: A large fire complex was still burning in west central British Columbia and generating moderate to dense smoke that was moving to the east into the central portion of the province.
