DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

SMOKE: Western U.S: Wildfires in the northwest continue to emit moderately dense smoke which can be seen over much of the northwest. The smoke extends from Washington, Oregon and northern California east through Idaho, northern Nevada, southern Montana and into Wyoming. Canada: A small area of light smoke is located over central Manitoba and is likely remnant smoke from wildfires in British Columbia. These wildfires in British Columbia continue to emit light to moderately dense smoke which is fanning out to the north and east. -Salemi THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE..TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
