SMOKE: Central U.S: An elongated area of thin smoke persists over much of the central U.S, extending from the southern Plains northward over the Midwest, extending past the U.S/Canadian border and into southern parts of Manitoba and Ontario. This smoke originates from the multitude of agricultural fires occurring throughout the Mississippi Valley. Another area of light density smoke is visible moving eastward over eastern Montana and North Dakota, combining with the larger smoke plume across the central U.S. This area of smoke originates from wildfires that have occurred in the western U.S. DUST: Areas of blowing dust are seen across much of southern California, moving southeastward towards the CA/AZ border. Most of the dust is to the south and east of San Bernandino, originating from multiple points of origin.
