DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 0130Z February 4, 2015
FLORIDA Small agricultural burns were seen in southern Florida mainly producing small smoke plumes moving towards the west. A notable larger sized smoke plume was seen in the southeast corner of Big Cypress National Preserve. Most of the smoke associated with this plume was moving to the west with some smoke moving eastward in the upper levels of the atmosphere. Ruminski/Cronin THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE..TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
