DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 0230Z February 17, 2015
DUST Strong winds over northeast Arizona this afternoon and evening kicked up light blowing dust across portions of Coconino, Navajo and Apache counties with the dust moving to the southeast. A small area of light blowing dust was seen in late afternoon satellite imagery over Esmeralda county in southwest Nevada moving to the southeast. Another narrow plume of dust was detected originating from the Willcox Playa dry lake and moving to the east just reaching the New Mexico border by sunset. Gallina/Ruminski THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE..TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
