SMOKE Southern Plains: Numerous agricultural and prescribed burns were noted this afternoon and evening over Oklahoma, Texas and Arkansas, several of which were generating notable smoke plumes. The fires were occurring on either side of a frontal system so that the smoke from the fires in eastern and southern Texas and Arkansas were mostly moving to the north. With the fires in central and western Oklahoma and Texas the smoke was moving to the east. East Pacific: A broad area of light to moderately dense smoke generated by the seasonal agricultural burning in Mexico and Central America was seen in the eastern Pacific extending westward from the southern Pacific coast of Mexico and the west coast of Guatemala. The smoke extended at least 1500km into the Pacific.
