DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

No new areas of dust/smoke can be detected through this evening's imagery. Gallina Earlier today (clouds have covered the region described below Gulf of Mexico/Southeast US: An area of thin to moderately dense smoke was seen over portions of south Florida, Cuba, and the Bahamas stretching northeastward ahead of a frontal boundary. Another area of thin smoke was also seen between the clouds across the south central Gulf of Mexico. This smoke is believed to be from fires in Central America and Cuba over the past day or two. Sheffler THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE..TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
