DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 1700Z June 5, 2015
SMOKE Central Canada: A large area of light to heavy density remnant smoke is visible extending from Yukon, Alberta, the NW Territories, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and moving SE into Ontario. The heaviest smoke is visible in Alberta, the NW Territories, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. This smoke originates from the wildfires burning in Alberta and Saskatchewan. Texas/Louisiana: A plume of light density smoke is visible moving northward from the Gulf of Mexico surrounding Texas and Louisiana into Oklahoma. This smoke most likely originates from the burning taking place in those areas, as well as smoke moving north from Central America. Oegerle THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE..TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
