DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

Northwest Canada: A couple of active wildfires southeast of Great Slave Lake have generated light to moderately dense smoke plumes that extend to the southwest across northwest and west central Alberta and into far eastern British Columbia. Central and Southeast Canada: Several patches of mostly light to very light smoke from the wildfires in northwest Canada over the past several days were seen across southern Canada, from southeast Alberta eastward to southern and central Quebec. The most eastern patch of smoke was from central Quebec and then curled to the south and southeast across Maine and Nova Scotia. North Central Canada: An area of light smoke was seen from near the northwest shore of Hudson Bay and extended southwestward to near Lake Athabasca. Ruminski THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE..TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
