DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 0300Z September 6, 2015
SMOKE: California/Nevada: A large plume of light to heavy-density smoke is visible originating from the Rough wildfire complex located in County, California. The smoke is visible moving NE into Nevada as well as moving eastward towards the Pacific Ocean. Alberta: A plume of remnant light-density smoke is visible moving NW into British Columbia and the NW Territories. This smoke is most likely remnant from the wildfires burning in the Pacific NW, however may be mixed with some of the remnant smoke that has been coming over from Asia the last few days. Southeastern US/Atlantic Ocean: A large area of light-density remnant smoke is visible swirling offshore the southeastern states into the Atlantic Ocean. This smoke is visible affecting Georgia, South Carolina, and the Atlantic Ocean extending from Florida to North Carolina, and originates from the wildfires that are burning in California. Oegerle THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE..TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
