SMOKE: Mississippi River Valley: A large area of light smoke is visible looming over dozens of agricultural burns taking place in Missouri, Arkansas, and Alabama moving east into Tennessee. Northern California/Oregon: An area of light-density remnant smoke is visible moving NW from a cluster of wildfires located in northern California. This smoke is visible emptying into the Pacific Ocean. This smoke could also be mixed in with foreign smoke that has been coming over from Asia. Oegerle Earlier: SMOKE: Gulf of Mexico/Southeastern US: A large plume of light density aerosol which likely contains some remnant smoke continues to be seen stretching from southeastern Texas across the northern Gulf of Mexico and inland over the adjacent Gulf coast states to along and off the coast of Georgia and the Carolinas. This smoke mixed in with other aerosols in this region is likely left over from the numerous agricultural burns that have been active in the Mississippi River Valley region these last few days.
