SMOKE: Central US: A large mass of thin density smoke leftover from yesterday's flare up of seasonal burning mainly over portions of Kansas and Oklahoma moved east during the day reaching Illinois, Indiana, and even as far east as Ohio just prior to sunset. Today, more seasonal burning occurred concentrated roughly in the same region of eastern and southeastern Kansas and northeastern Oklahoma resulting in another surge of thin to moderately dense smoke which moved to the east and northeast reaching into western and central Missouri. In addition, several fires in west central Arkansas emitted moderately dense to thick smoke which spread to the northeast extending as far as northeastern Arkansas just before sunset.
