THROUGH 1730Z August 7, 2016
SMOKE: Northern US/Great Lakes: Several wildfires throughout Oregon, Idaho, and Montana are responsible for an expansive area of thin smoke stretching from the source region east over all of Montana, the Dakotas, Minnesota, the southern portions of Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba, and most of Ontario and the Great Lakes Region. Moderate density remnant smoke is observed over Ontario. Central California: The Sobranes wildfire continues to produce remnant light density smoke with embedded moderate density smoke moving south from the source over the Pacific ocean. Canada: Ribbons of thin density smoke are observed this morning stretching southeast over the Northern Territories and into northern Alberta and Saskatchewan. An additional area of remnant thin smoke is seen over western Hudson Bay. This smoke likely originated from Wildfires throughout Western Canada.
