SMOKE: Far Western US/Southwestern Canada: Over far northern California, a large wildfire was emitting a smoke plume which moved mainly to the north through Oregon, Washington and southern British Columbia. A small patch light density smoke was visible heading the northeast. Area from Idaho to the North Central US/South Central Canada: Numerous wildfires over Idaho, western and southwestern Montana, and northwestern Wyoming were responsible for a large area of moderately dense to thick smoke that extended from the Great Lakes and Michigan/Wisconsin through the Northern Plains, Northern Rockies and South Central Canada. The full extent of the smoke is obscured by heavy cloud coverage in central US and southern Canada.
