DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

Lower and Middle Mississippi Valley: Another day of widespread seasonal agricultural fires occurred over southeastern Missouri, eastern Arkansas, and northwestern Mississippi resulting in many individual relatively small thin density smoke plumes which spread generally to the north and northeast. Southern Louisiana: More seasonal fires were seen over southern Louisiana with accompanying relatively small thin density smoke plumes which moved to the west and northwest. JS Earlier This Morning... SMOKE: A small area of light density detached smoke was seen in northeast Georgia stemming from a fire in northern Georgia. Many attached plumes with light to moderate density smoke was seen in southeastern Tennessee, western Alabama, and northern Georgia. Whisnant THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
