DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

SMOKE: Offshore Mid Atlantic extending to Coastal Florida: An area of light smoke from fire activity over Florida was extending from west of Bermuda southwest to coastal Florida. It is possible that some Saharan Dust is within this axis of smoke close to the Florida coast. Texas: An area of remnant smoke from fires over Mexico extended from portions of northeast Texas southwest to south central Texas. DUST: An area of Saharan Dust extended from portions of the northeast Gulf west through the central and western Gulf and then south to the western Caribbean Sea. Hanna THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
