SMOKE: Arizona/New Mexico/Oklahoma/Kansas/Texas... Numerous wildfires in Arizona and New Mexico have generated an area of light remnant smoke that stretches from portions of eastern Arizona and across much of New Mexico into west Texas, the Oklahoma Panhandle and western Kansas. These smoke areas are mainly moving to the east. There are smaller areas of moderately dense smoke in the vicinity of the fires, especially in the valleys and drainage areas near the fires. Mexico... Numerous fires burning over northwestern Mexico continue to contribute to the smoke from previous days in the region. A broad area of light to moderately dense smoke covered much of northwest Mexico from near the Big Bend area southward to the Pacific coast and extending well off the coast into the southern Gulf of California and the open Pacific. Minnesota... An area of thin remnant smoke was seen stretching from extreme east central North Dakota northeastward into northwest Minnesota and into far southwest Ontario. Alaska and Yukon... A fire burning in west central Yukon Territory has produced a plume of light to moderately dense smoke that extends westward from the fire into east central Alaska and then curls back to the east across central Yukon.
