DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

SMOKE: Arizona/New Mexico... Numerous wildfires in Arizona and New Mexico continue to burn through the evening with light smoke extending from central Arizona and across much of New Mexico. Moderately dense smoke keeps within the vicinity of the fires, especially those near valleys. Mexico... Numerous fires burning over northwestern Mexico, especially in Sonora and Chihuahua states, continue to produce smoke that blankets much of western Mexico. Smoke plumes originating from northern Sonora extend east and into Texas. Alaska... A wildfire located in Northern Yukon near the coastline is producing light to moderately dense smoke that stretches roughly 25 miles towards the Southeast. -Boll THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
