DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

SMOKE: Southwestern US... Wildfires burning in the Southwestern US are producing light density smoke predominantly located in Central and Southeast Arizona, Southwestern Utah, and Central New Mexico. Eastern Alaska/Northwestern Canada... The Ammerman Creeak and Campbell River wildfires in Eastern Alaska continued to burn through the night producing light density smoke that was seen traveling Westward and across the northern portion of the state. A fire located in north-central Yukon Territory is producing local light density smoke. DUST: Central Gulf of Mexico... A large area of Saharan dust blanketed much of the Central Gulf of Mexico in satellite imagery this morning. Boll THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
