SMOKE: Northwest US into the Plains and British Columbia into Alberta Canada... Smoke from the continuing wildfires in northern California, western Oregon, Washington, Idaho, western Montana and southern British Columbia covers much of the region. The smoke covers far northern California, most of Oregon, eastern Washington, most of Idaho and most of Montana. There are large patches of moderately dense and dense smoke within this area. Mostly light smoke is seen extending to the southeast across north Wyoming, South Dakota, Nebraska and Kansas into northern Oklahoma. Smoke also covers southeast British Columbia and much of Alberta. Clouds over this area make the full extent of the smoke and the density difficult to assess. Smoke from the fires in northwest California and southwest Oregon is also seen streaming to the southwest off the coast where it extends to the latitude of the middle of the Baja peninsula. Central and Eastern Canada and the Great Lakes States.... A large mass of remnant smoke was seen covering a large portion of the eastern half of Canada except for parts of central Quebec, Newfoundland and Nova Scotia. There was a large area of moderate to dense smoke over Hudson Bay, northern Quebec, northeast Manitoba and western and southern Ontario. Western Atlantic... A mass of light to moderately dense smoke was seen off the mid Atlantic and New England coast and extends to the east northeast to the south of Nova Scotia and the southeast tip of Newfoundland. DUST: Caribbean... An area of Saharan dust was detected over the southeastern Bahamas and eastern Cuba and extending to the east across Hispaniola and Puerto Rico and the Lesser Antilles.
