DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

SMOKE: Continental US/Southern Canada... Large swaths of smoke both active a remnant were observed originating from fires in Northern California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and British Columbia. This smoke was seen as far east as Ohio. Idaho/Montana/British Coumbia... Large fires burning near the borders of these states and provinces were seen producing large quantities of thick smoke plumes traveling south east. Southern Oregon/Northern California... Fires along the borders of these two states were observed producing moderately heavy plumes of smoke traveling north east and combining with above mentioned smoke from the fires in Idaho and Montana. -Westbrook THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
