DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 1800Z October 25, 2017
SMOKE: Arizona/Nevada A fire in the Kaibab National Forest in north central Arizona has a light to moderately dense smoke plume that extends to the west, reaching into southern Nevada. Northern Baja into the Pacific Ocean Light to moderately dense remnant smoke and smoke still actively being emitted from a fire in far northwest Baja just south of the California border extends off the coast into the Pacific. Gulf Coast and the Southeast Numerous fires were seen to initiate this morning and early afternoon along the Gulf Coast from the upper Texas Gulf coast to Florida and Georgia. Most of these fires were producing detectable smoke which was mainly moving to the southeast. Ruminski THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
