DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 1630Z October 27, 2017
SMOKE: Southern California... Some thin density smoke was visible with the fire in western Riverside County of southern California which appeared to be moving to the south across San Diego. Northern Arizona... A patch of thin to moderately dense smoke was visible near and to the south of a fire located north of the Grand Canyon in northern Arizona. DUST: Southeastern Oklahoma/North Central, Northeastern, and East Central Texas... A swath of rather thin density leftover blowing dust was seen moving to the east and southeast across southeastern Oklahoma as well as the north central, northeastern, and east central portions of Texas. JS THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
