SMOKE: East Central Arizona/West Central New Mexico A cluster of fires over far southern Apache County of east central Arizona resulted in an area of thin to moderately dense smoke to even localized thick smoke which slowly expanded during the day with the thinner smoke reaching into west central New Mexico. Southern Louisiana... Scattered seasonal fires burning primarily over the southern part of Louisiana were responsible for a number of thin density smoke plumes which spread quickly to the south with some of the smoke extending well out over the western Gulf of Mexico. JS Earlier This Morning... SMOKE: South Florida... A couple of fires with smoke plumes have broken out this morning south of Lake Okeechobee. These smoke plumes were seen moving off toward the east. DUST: East of Windward Islands... A small amount of Saharan dust was observed approaching St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Grenada, and Tobago of the southern Windward Islands. This dust extends eastward into the central Tropical North Atlantic Ocean. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED. USERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO VIEW A GRAPHIC DEPICTION OF THESE AND OTHER PLUMES WHICH ARE LESS EXTENSIVE AND STILL ATTACHED TO THE SOURCE FIRE IN VARIOUS GRAPHIC FORMATS ON OUR WEB SITE: JPEG: http://www.ospo.noaa.gov/Products/land/hms.html GIS: http://www.firedetect.noaa.gov/viewer.htm KML: http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/PS/FIRE/kml.html ANY QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS REGARDING THIS PRODUCT SHOULD BE SENT TO SSDFireTeam@noaa.gov
