THROUGH 1630Z November 20, 2017
SMOKE: No major regions of remnant smoke were observed in satellite imagery this morning. The only smoke observed emanated from fires in east-central Arizona and just east of Lake Okeechobee in south Florida. All observed smoke was quite thin in density. DUST: East of Windward Islands... A thin layer of Saharan dust was observed entering the southeastern Caribbean Sea. This layer had moved as far west as Aruba, Bonaire, and Curacao from the central Tropical North Atlantic. The latitudinal extent of this layer spans from the island of Guadeloupe south to Grenada and Tobago. This layer was generally moving off toward the west. Hosley THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
