DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

SMOKE: Florida... Seasonal fires were detected across areas south of Lake Okeechobee during the late morning to early afternoon with several fires producing a thin density area smoke moving south towards the Everglades. Arkansas... Several seasonal fires were detected over central and northwest parts of the state with thin plumes drifting north and northeast. Arizona... A few fires over far east-central Arizona are spreading a thin to locally moderately thick plume slowly to the north. A remnant thin smoke plume from a fire yesterday is moving north-northwest located east-southeast of the Phoenix area. BK THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
