DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 0330Z January 15, 2018
SMOKE: Florida... Numerous fires near and just south of Lake Okeechobee were observed emitting smoke this afternoon. The smoke plumes from these seasonal fires were seen moving to the south and south-southwest. Several smoke plumes from seasonal fires were also detected over the Florida Panhandle. These plumes are moving to the south-southwest. Konon THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
