DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

SMOKE: Southern Florida... A few smoke plumes were visible through scattered to broken cloud cover across southern Florida emanating from fires throughout the agricultural areas near and south of Lake Okeechobee. These smoke plumes were moving off toward the northwest over Lake Okeechobee. UNKNOWN AEROSOL: Offshore of Southern California and the northwestern Gulf of California... Some unknown aerosol, possibly a mix of marine aerosol, sulfates, and remnant blowing dust from yesterday, was seen moving off both the southern California coast into the Pacific Ocean and the Colorado River Delta into the Gulf of California. Hosley THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
