DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

SMOKE: South Florida... Several light-density smoke plumes were observed associated with agricultural fires around Lake Okeechobee. The smoke was seen moving in a number of different directions. Two fires east of Lake Okeechobee have plumes moving both to the north and west-southwest, with the other smoke plumes east of Lake Okeechobee moving west-southwest. On the western side of Lake Okeechobee, a majority of the smoke was moving toward the northwest. Hosley THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
