THROUGH 1730Z March 24, 2018
SMOKE: Southeastern US... Dense cloud cover was visible in much of the Lower Mississippi Valley in satellite imagery this morning inhibiting the detection of fires throughout the area. Fires located west of Savannah, GA are producing light to moderately dense smoke that is being carried eastward over Hilton Head Island, SC and then out to sea. Prescribed agricultural burns continue to produce puffs of light density smoke south of Lake Okeechobee in Florida. The large wildfire in Collier County, Florida continues to burn this morning and afternoon. Light density remnant smoke stretches as far west as the central Gulf of Mexico. This morning moderate and thick density smoke was seen emanating from the source. Boll THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE.
