SMOKE:
New Mexico/Colorado...
The Buzzard Wildfire located in Catron County was seen producing heavy
smoke in the nearby vicinity extending towards the northeast. Thin
density smoke extended farther northward and into southern Colorado. A
fire located near north-central New Mexico was producing thing to
moderately dense smoke that was also traveling towards the northeast
and into Colorado.
Upper Mississippi Valley...
Several fires in the area are producing light density smoke that was
observed traveling towards the south this evening in western Minnesota.
Northwestern and Central Canada...
A region of thin density aerosol which may be leftover smoke from some
of the recent wildfire activity in western and central Canada could be
seen over a portion of the Northwest Territories as well as northern
Alberta and northern Saskatchewan.

THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS
OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME
DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE
FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST
ARE ALSO DESCRIBED. USERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO VIEW A GRAPHIC DEPICTION OF
THESE AND OTHER PLUMES WHICH ARE LESS EXTENSIVE AND STILL ATTACHED TO
THE SOURCE FIRE IN VARIOUS GRAPHIC FORMATS ON OUR WEB SITE:
