DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE

Wildfires in southwestern and central Colorado are emitting dense to very dense smoke which has moved to the northeast across Colorado and into southwest Nebraska. An area of remnant smoke has moved into southern South Dakota, central Nebraska and northwest Kansas. Utah... Wildfires burning in central/northern Utah have produced smoke that has moved northeast into southeast Idaho and western Wyoming. Northern California: Numerous fires burning in the Sacramento Valley have produced areas of moderately dense to dense smoke which have moved east across the northern sections of the state. Southeast U.S/Mississippi Valley.... There are numerous agricultural and prescribed fires in the Southeast/Mississippi Valley. A few of them have observed smoke plumes, but most have been obscured by clouds. Dust: Areas of blowing dust/sand can be seen moving east across sections of southern California, northern Baja, southern Nevada, and western Arizona and Utah as a system moves across the region. J Kibler THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
