DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE

SEND EMAIL RESPONSE TO SSDFireTeam@noaa.gov. SMOKE: Great Lakes/Tennessee Valley/Midwest/Northern and Central Plains/Northern Rockies.... A large area of different density smoke from wildfires over Colorado, Utah and Nevada, extended from portions of the Great Lakes region, Upper Tennessee Valley, Midwest west through Central and Northern Plains towards the Northern Rockies and portions of southern Ontario, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan. The thickest smoke is seen in eastern section of the Dakotas, most of Minnesota, Iowa, northern/central Illinois, Missouri and across southern Michigan/Wisconsin. Northern California/Oregon/Washington/Idaho/Montana/southern Canada.... A fire on the central California/Oregon border has produced an area of light to moderately dense smoke moving northeast across central Oregon, southeast Washington, northern Idaho, northwest Montana and into extreme southern sections of Alberta/British Columbia. J Kibler THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
