SMOKE:

California/Nevada/Utah....
Wildfires continue to burn in northern California (County and Klamathon
fires), northern Nevada (Martin fire), and northeast Utah (Willow
Creek and Dollar Right fires). Smoke from Klamanthon fire is seen
extending to the northeast across Oregon state, northern Idaho, and into
western Montana. Smoke from the Martin fire is dispersing towards the
east-northeast traversing southern Idaho, northern Wyoming, and reaching
northwest South Dakota and central-south North Dakota. Smoke from the
wildfires in northeast Utah are mostly localized near the source with
some slow movement towards the northeast.

Unless otherwise indicated:
  • Areas of smoke are analyzed using GOES-EAST and GOES-WEST Visible satellite imagery.
  • Only a general description of areas of smoke or significant smoke plumes will be analyzed.
  • A quantitative assessment of the density/amount of particulate or the vertical distribution is not included.
  • Widespread cloudiness may prevent the detection of smoke even from significant fires.
