SMOKE:
Ontario/Canada...
Light remnant smoke from weekend fires is seen over northern Ontario,
James Bay, and northern Quebec drifting eastward. Large amounts of
adjacent cloud cover obscure the full extent of the smoke.
Central Sierras...
The Ferguson Fire in the Central Sierras was observed emitting heavily
dense smoke throughout the entire day. The smoke is seen in all directions
from the fire, but is mostly oriented south-north and is not moving in
any particular direction.
Southwest Idaho and Northeast Nevada...
There were a couple of fires producing light to medium density smoke in
southwest Idaho moving northeast. The Tucker wildfire in Humboldt National
Forest in northeast Nevada was producing light density smoke moving north.
DUST:
Texas/Gulf of Mexico...
An area of suspended dust/aerosol linked to long-range transport from
the Sahara was seen along the Texas Gulf coast.

THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS
OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME
DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE
FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING
DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED. USERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO
VIEW A GRAPHIC DEPICTION OF THESE AND OTHER PLUMES WHICH ARE LESS
EXTENSIVE AND STILL ATTACHED TO THE SOURCE FIRE IN VARIOUS GRAPHIC
