The ongoing wildfire activity affecting portions of the western United States and western Canada continues to produce enormous amounts of smoke that covers most of Canada and the northern portion of the United States. The heaviest smoke covered a vast area from Nunavut, western Ontario and the Upper Midwest of the United States and extended through Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia in Canada and then through the Northern Plains, Northern Rockies and Pacific Northwest and California in the United States. Another area of thin smoke extended through central Alaska and was likely from fire activity over Asia.
