DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

A large thin density plume from previous days wildfires is found from southeastern Yukon and northern British Columbia eastward to Hudson Bay and far northern Quebec. British Columbia... A moderate density plume is spreading slowly in various directions around a cluster of wildfires in the south-central part of the province. North Dakota/Manitoba... Most of North Dakota and southern Manitoba is covered by a detached thin density plume. Wyoming... A thin and moderate density plume is spreading slowly over the southeastern part of the state from a wildfire near Douglas. Washington/Oregon/California... A persistent wildfire located over the north-central part of Washington is emitting a thin density plume to the southeast. Long-burning wildfires over southwestern Oregon and northwestern California are spreading thin and moderate density plumes to the south along the coast and into the northern Sacramento Valley. Konon THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
