DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

SEND EMAIL RESPONSES TO: SSDFireTeam@noaa.gov. SMOKE: Northern Canada... A large thin density plume from previous days wildfires persists from eastern Yukon eastward to near southern Greenland. Manitoba/Ontario... A detached thin density plume is found over central Manitoba, southwestern Ontario, and James Bay. British Columbia... Thin density plumes from long-burning wildfires over the west-central part of the province are spreading to the southeast. Washington/Oregon/California... A small cluster of wildfires continue over north-central Washington with thin and locally moderate density plumes moving off to the southeast. Wildfires continue over southwestern Oregon and northwestern California emitting thin and locally moderate density plumes to the south spreading along the coast and into the northern Sacramento Valley. Utah... A wildfire near Willow Creek Butte is currently spreading a small and thin density plume to the northeast into Wyoming. Wyoming... A wildfire near Douglas continues to burn and is emitting a thin density plume that is moving off to the northeast. Konon THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
