DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 2200Z October 23, 2018.
SMOKE: Washington/British Columbia.. Light density smoke can be seen over Washington state and southern British Columbia. The smoke is slowly moving towards the north-northeast. South Central Canada/North Dakota... Numerous seasonal/agricultural fires were detected over southern Saskatchewan and southern Manitoba in south central Canada and the northern half of North Dakota. There was a mixture of light and medium density smoke plumes moving towards the north-northwest. Florida... Agricultural fires could be seen around the lower half of Lake Okeechobee producing light-density smoke moving towards the west. Mississippi Valley... There were numerous seasonal/agricultural fires detected throughout the Plains but the majority of smoke plumes seen were in the Central Mississippi Valley and were moving in all directions. Rodriguez THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
