DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 1800Z October 24, 2018.
SMOKE: South Central Canada/North Dakota... Numerous seasonal/agricultural fires were detected over southern Saskatchewan and southern Manitoba in south central Canada and the northern half of North Dakota. A few smoke plumes could be seen in the satellite imagery this morning moving towards the north-northeast. Southeast US... Several seasonal/agricultural fires can also be seen burning across Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, and around Lake Okeechobee in Florida. Individual smoke are seen moving to the west. WS THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
