DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 1930Z November 15, 2018.
SMOKE: California... Moderate-to-heavy density smoke from the Camp fire is seen accumulating due to low winds along the full length of the Sacramento Valley and San Joaquin Valley, extending further to the west over San Francisco including coastal areas 100 miles to the north and south. Additional smoke is also seen near the Alder fire in Sequoia National Forest, moving slowly towards the north. WS THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
