DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 1815Z November 19, 2018.
SMOKE: California... The Camp fire in Butte County and the Alder fire in Sequoia National Forest remain active this morning with moderate-to-heavy density smoke observed near the source. Increasing cloud coverage is seen over the entire state, which is preventing proper smoke delineation. Florida... Several small/short-duration agricultural fires can be seen south of Lake Okeechobee. Cloud coverage is also limiting smoke plume delineation in that area. WS THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
