DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 0200Z December 07, 2018.
SMOKE: Southeastern U.S... Some thin density smoke was visible with a few of the seasonal type fires scattered across the Southeastern U.S. with the most prominent smoke seen across central and southern Florida. Interior portions of Northern and Central California/Western Oregon... A few mainly thin density smoke plumes were seen with seasonal/agricultural type fires occurring in portions of northern and central California as well as western Oregon. JS THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
