DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 0200Z February 3, 2019.
SMOKE: Southeastern U.S... Primarily localized thin density smoke was visible with some of the seasonal type fire activity across the southern half of Louisiana and southwestern Mississippi. Additional localized thin density smoke was also noted with some of the fires detected across the region stretching from northern Mississippi eastward to the Carolinas. South Central Plains... A few fires in the northwestern Texas panhandle and the Western Oklahoma panhandle produced bursts of thin density smoke which spread quickly to the northeast extending well out from the sources. JS THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
