DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 1830Z February 7, 2019.
SMOKE: Southeast US... A significant number of fires were detected across Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and into North Carolina with many thin density smoke plumes also visible. The smoke across central and southern Florida spread to the west and northwest while the smoke over northern Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas moved quickly off to the northeast. Mexico/Central America/Cuba... More widespread seasonal burning over portions of Mexico, Central America, and Cuba resulted in areas of thin density smoke. JS THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
